In response to the economic issues that Nigerian SMEs and businesses face, The Nimbus Aid Project has today announced a call for submissions for its 2022 project, in which 10 women-led SMEs and pre-seed startups would each get N2 million in free advertising.

The project is an initiative of Nimbus Media Ltd and is being done in partnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), TechCabal and Marketing Edge Magazine. Its goal is to support deserving organizations and businesses making meaningful impact in the Nigerian economy.

Nimbus Media Ltd announced a call for entries for its Nimbus Aid Project today. The project seeks to support 10 women-led SMEs and pre-seed startups with ₦2 million worth of advertising each on Nimbus’s outdoor advertising screens across Nigeria.

Formerly called Nominate A Charity, the Nimbus Aid Project has, since 2016, supported organizations making meaningful impact in Nigerian communities with advertising collateral. The project focuses on organizations and businesses providing economic opportunities and jobs this year.

Speaking on the call for entries, the company’s managing director and CEO, Olawale Adegoke, says, “With the ongoing economic challenges faced by SMEs and startups, it is understandable that they do not have resources for promotional campaigns. As a result, we are collaborating with our partners to help these businesses grow.”

According to Adegoke, each winner will receive ₦2 million worth of advertising on Nimbus boards across Nigeria. He added that the Nimbus Aid Project 2022 is being executed in collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), TechCabal, and Marketing Edge magazine. Together with a group of judges, these partners will help select deserving beneficiaries who will receive advertising support from Nimbus.

“Speaking about the partnership, Director, Strategy, Funding and Stakeholder Management, LSETF, Ms. Sheila Ojei, said: Partnerships such as this give us the opportunity to support SMEs in Lagos. Giving them visibility on this platform will expand their businesses and increase profitability. An increase in profitability means the ability to create jobs and contribute to the reduction of unemployment in Lagos State. We commend Nimbus for this initiative and are open to collaborations that can drive the vision of LSETF to create more jobs for Lagos residents.”

Also speaking, a representative from Big Cabal Media noted: “Entries for the 2022 Nimbus Aid Project will run from September 21, 2022, and close on October 5, 2022. After the initial call for entries, 20 finalists will be selected from the first phase, and the eventual 10 winners will be chosen from a public vote that will be announced later.”

Concerning the eligibility of the entries, applicants’ businesses are expected to be registered companies with viable businesses that have the potential to create jobs and economic opportunities.
