Grantmaking partners with organizations that are African-led and rooted in the communities they serve. These organizations are operating on impactful and sustainable solutions in their communities, countries, and regions.

While the fund is multi-sector, they seek to maintain a balanced portfolio across education, health, livelihoods, technology & digital futures, climate & environment, human rights, and gender equity.

Open Application System expands access to funding beyond traditional referrals, allowing applicants to showcase their work and impact early in the process. This transparent, tech-enabled platform also serves as a pipeline database for peer funders to meet organizations with a demonstrated impact in delivering deep, community-rooted change across the continent.

How to Apply

The open application is now live! Apply today to take the next step to join our network and apply for funding. In this update, our Grantmaking Systems Manager, Chamrid Kpadonou, shares how our new application system makes the process simpler and more transparent, along with features designed to support applicants every step of the way.

We’ve designed our application process to be as easy and stress-free as possible. You won’t need to create brand-new materials. Just bring together information your organization already has. Our goal is to help you share your work without extra hurdles.

Additionally, when you apply through our portal, you can indicate your consent for our team to share your organization’s details with other interested funders. We’re committed to amplifying your work beyond our own funding.
