Calling on all Nigeria based Social Enterprises, Social Innovators, Investors, Asset-owners, Fund managers and individuals behind successful impact-oriented investments/Funds/products, services and inventions to apply or nominate suitable candidates for the IIF Annual Award for Impact Investing

The IIF Award for Impact Investing is a platform that recognises a leading institution and/or an individual who has made significant environmental and social contributions through their investments, products, services, or innovations. Impact in this context is measurable by contributions that are making the lives of many Nigerians better and improving the environment.

The award is intended to inspire others to deliberately build impact into their business and investment strategies and measure their contributions, thereby, growing and strengthening the impact investing ecosystem in Nigeria.

The IIF Award for Impact Investing is in two categories – Impact Investor of The Year and Social Enterprise of The Year.

Selection Criteria

Nominees for the Award on Impact Investing shall be expected to meet the following criteria based on their selected categories:

Criteria for Impact Investor of The Year

  1. Must have consistently made measurable social and environmental investments in any sector (that have improved the lives of a significant number of Nigerians and the environment.
  2. Investments must have been within the last 2 years
  3. Seeks both financial (ROI) and social (SROI) on their Investments and are likely to provide verifiable evidence (on their website, reports, or other documents). (Must not be a Philanthropic Organisation/Donor or Government Agency).

Criteria for Social Enterprise of The Year

  1. Must have consistently made a measurable social and environmental impact through their products, services, and/or invention (that have improved the lives of a significant number of Nigerians and the environment.
  2. Must have been in operation for no less than 2 years
  3. Seeks both financial (ROI) and social (SROI) on their business and are likely to provide evidence to verify this. (Must not be a Government Agency).
  4. Should have verifiable evidence of their impact

Who Should Apply?

Duly registered Fund managers, Asset owners, Impact focused Enterprises and Social enterprises.

Only shortlisted organisations will be contacted and will be required to submit the following:

  1. Copies of registration certificates
  2. Tax Identification number
  3. Corporate Governance Policy
  4. Detail report of your work
  5. Evidence/Impact Report of the work (If possible)
