Call For Applications: Digital Health Africa Internship Program 2026 — Remote 6-Month Opportunity for Young Africans

Are you passionate about health, innovation, technology, and storytelling? The Digital Health Africa (DHA) Internship Program 2026 is now open for applications. This six-month, remote internship offers emerging professionals a chance to gain real-world experience, mentor-led learning, and contribute toward shaping Africa’s digital health future.

What You’ll Do / Departmental Roles

As a DHA intern, you may be attached to one of these teams:

  • Media & Communications: Produce digital health stories, podcasts, social media content, and campaigns.
  • Programs & Partnerships: Support coordination of events, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement for DHA initiatives.
  • Research & Insights: Contribute to data collection, policy briefs, and digital health research.
  • Technology & Digital Systems: Help with platform updates, system tests, and digital infrastructure projects.
  • Africa Digital Health Student Network (ADHSN): Work with student groups, coordinate innovation challenges, and document student-led activities.

Learning & Development

Interns will engage in structured monthly training and mentorship covering:

  • Africa’s digital health ecosystem
  • Health communication & storytelling
  • Digital research methods
  • Project management for impact
  • Partnerships & youth community building
  • Policy, governance, and advocacy in health
  • Career development and portfolio-building

What You Gain

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following:

  • Between ages 18–35
  • Based in Africa or working on Africa-focused projects
  • Passionate about digital health, policy, technology, or media
  • Able to commit 8–10 hours/week from January to June 2026
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across teams

Timeline & Key Dates

  • Application Deadline: November 27, 2025
  • Internship Duration: January to June 2026 (6 months)
  • Expected Start Date: January 8, 2026

  • Be clear in your motivation: Explain why digital health excites you, and which DHA department you see yourself working in.
  • Show commitment: Demonstrate you can manage 8–10 hours/week for 6 months.
  • Provide work samples (if any): If you’ve done writing, research, or tech work, highlight it in your CV.
  • Be ready to tell stories: As part of the communications or research team, interns may create content, so experiences in writing or digital media help.
  • Prepare for a virtual interview or assessment: There may be screening rounds.
