Call for Applications: FG TVET Training Portal Opens for 5 Million Nigerian Youths | (N30,000 Artisan Pay, Free Skills, Starter Kits, and Soft Loans)

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative is a flagship program of the Federal Ministry of Education designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Through partnerships with certified training centers across the country, the initiative offers tuition-free training, monthly stipends, and start-up support for selected trades in high-demand sectors.

  • Welding & Fabrication
  • Painting, Decoration & Finishes (Interior Design)
  • Floor Cladding, Tiling & Interlocking
  •  Brick laying, Blocklaying & Concreting
  • Network System Installation
  • Computer Hardware & GSM Repair & Maintenance
  •  Social Media Communications
  • Creative Media (Digital Media Production)
  • Motorcycle & Tricycle Repair
  • Vulcanising & Tire Repair
  • Auto-body Works (Panel Beating)
  •  Automobile Mechanic
  • Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning

  • Plumbing & Pipe-fitting
  • Woodwork, Carpentry & Joinery
  • Furniture making & Upholstery
  • Blacksmithing
  • Solar PV Installation & Maintenance
  • Automobile CNG Conversion & Maintenance
  • Mechanised Agriculture(Mechanics or Operations)
  • Livestock Farming (Bee Keeping, Poultry & Animal Husbandry)
  • Fashion Design & Garment Making
  •  Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology.

What Applicants Will Get

Anyone who gets into the program will benefit from:

  • Free training and certification in their chosen field
  • Starter kits after graduation, such as electrician tools, plumbing kits, or carpentry sets
  • Soft loans and business support in partnership with the Bank of Industry
  • Mentorship from skilled artisans, who will receive N30,000 monthly per student they mentor
  • Training at accredited centres across states, including private institutions and technical colleges

Minister Alausa also confirmed that the program will follow a three-year structure. Training will be available through both federal and state institutions, and certificates will be recognized nationwide.

To ensure that no one abuses the system, the government will use geofencing technology and NIN verification to monitor student attendance and performance.

All stipends and operational funds will be paid through the NELFUND platform, which has already been used to manage other government funding programs.

Alausa stressed that this move follows the path of successful economies like Germany, China, South Korea, and Singapore, where technical skills have powered industrial growth.

All 6 geopolitical zones, Federal & State Technical Colleges, State-owned accredited institutions, Registered private vocational centers
