The Greener Future Workshop has announced the opening of applications for its year-long mentorship and career development program designed to empower African youth, particularly fresh graduates and early career professionals seeking clarity, confidence, and direction in their career journey.
The initiative responds to a rising need for guided professional growth across the continent. With more than 70% of sub-Saharan Africans under the age of 30, youth make up a powerful force for development. However, limited access to career guidance continues to hinder growth. A 2024 survey revealed that over 50% of young Africans lack awareness of essential career skills, while 92% expressed a strong need for mentorship in leadership development, career strategy, and personal discovery. The Greener Future Workshop aims to bridge this gap.
About the Program
The mentorship begins with a three-day virtual workshop where 30 selected participants will engage in intensive sessions facilitated by six experienced development experts. The workshop will introduce career advancement tools, leadership skills, and self-discovery frameworks. After the initial training, participants will continue through a structured year-long mentorship journey, receiving small-cohort support, check-in sessions, and access to professional development resources.
By the end of the program, participants are expected to gain clarity in career direction, build confidence, and develop essential skills needed for meaningful engagement in the workplace or entrepreneurship.
