Call For Applications: Imagine H2O Accelerator 2026 for Water Innovation Startups
Share

Are you a water-tech startup addressing global water challenges? The Imagine H2O Accelerator is now open for applications for its 2026 cohort. This zero-equity, high-impact program brings together emerging water entrepreneurs with mentors, industry partners, and pilot funding to help scale their solutions.

Water remains one of the most critical resources on the continent, with urgent needs in access, efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Imagine H2O offers a proven platform for African water entrepreneurs to connect with global industry players, test their technology, and gain visibility in the water innovation space.

What You Get from the Program

  • Zero-equity acceleration — Imagine H2O does not take ownership or equity in your company.
  • Mentorship & Training — Access to dedicated mentors, virtual sessions, and expert-led workshops specifically tailored for water startups.
  • Global Network Access — Connect with over 70 tech adopters, 200+ investors, and a community of alumni entrepreneurs.
  • Pilot Project Support — Opportunities to apply for catalytic funding and advisory support to run pilot tests in real-world settings.
  • Visibility & Credibility — Use Imagine H2O’s “stamp of approval” to boost your standing in the global water-tech ecosystem.

Eligibility Criteria

Startups must meet the following to apply:

  • Incorporated for less than 7 years.
  • Annual revenue under US$ 5 million.
  • Equity raised less than US$ 10 million to date.
  • Able to commit to program sessions “in their time-zone windows” (for Africa, evening slots).

Timeline & Key Dates (2026 Cohort)

  • Applications Open: November 12, 2025
  • Applications Close: December 19, 2025
  • Program Starts: April 2026
  • Program Ends: November 2026

How to Apply

  1. Visit the Imagine H2O application page: Imagine H2O Apply Portal
  2. Register your startup to receive updates and application access.
  3. Prepare your pitch: business model, technology, use-case, and your water-challenge solution.
  4. Submit all required documents, including your team profile, financials, and vision.
  5. Monitor for selection announcements — they may invite shortlisted startups for interviews or further screening.

Tips for a Strong Application

  • Be clear on impact: Explain how your startup will solve a specific water challenge (quality, access, infrastructure, reuse).
  • Show scalability: Provide a business model that can expand beyond your pilot location.
  • Highlight technology readiness: Demonstrate what stage your product is at — prototype, pilot or beta.
  • Connect to customers: Mention potential water utilities, municipalities, or communities you plan to partner with for pilots.
  • Commit to learning: Emphasize capacity to engage in mentorship sessions and use pilot funding wisely.
