Call for Applications: NNPC Emoimee Scholarship Scheme Annual Award for Nigerian Undergraduates ( Up To ₦400,000)
Share

Applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the NNPC Emoimee Scholarship Scheme — a transformative initiative aimed at empowering young Nigerians through education and fostering sustainable development within local communities.

Launched by the NNPC/MPN JV EMOIMEE Host Community Development Trust, Ikot-Abasi, the scholarship reflects the belief that education is a foundation for opportunity, leadership, and community growth. The program awards ₦400,000 per year to each successful candidate, helping students concentrate on their studies without the burden of financial pressure.

Why It Matters
The NNPC Emoimee Scholarship is more than financial assistance — it is an investment in the next generation of leaders from the Mkpat Enin and Ikot Abasi communities. By rewarding academic excellence and supporting deserving students, the initiative promotes education as a key driver of sustainable local development. It empowers youths to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Objectives of the Scheme

  • Support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students from Mkpat Enin and Ikot Abasi LGAs.
  • Encourage academic excellence and integrity.
  • Promote education as a catalyst for social and economic growth.
  • Build a pool of skilled graduates who will drive progress within their local areas.

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements

  • Applicants must be indigenes of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area (LGA).
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian tertiary institution — university, polytechnic, college of education, or college of nursing.
  • Must have completed at least one academic session in the institution.
  • Must not currently hold another scholarship award.
  • Must demonstrate good character, discipline, and be free from involvement in cultism or illegal activities.

Academic Requirements

  • For university students: Minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2).
  • For polytechnic or college of nursing students: Minimum of Upper Credit.
  • For college of education students: Minimum of Merit.

Continuity Requirement
Recipients are required to submit academic results at the beginning of each new session to maintain eligibility. Any decline in academic performance or violation of conduct rules will result in withdrawal of the scholarship.

Benefits

  • Annual scholarship award of ₦400,000 per student.
  • Renewable every year until graduation, subject to satisfactory academic performance and adherence to program conditions.
  • Offers both financial relief and motivation for academic and personal growth.

Tips for Applicants

  • Ensure you meet all eligibility criteria before applying.
  • Prepare clear documentation proving your local origin and current academic standing.
  • Highlight your academic achievements and character references, if required.
  • Maintain communication with the official contact persons for accurate information on submission requirements.
  • Uphold integrity and academic diligence throughout the process — scholarship renewal depends on performance and conduct.
