This is an eight-week project collaboration alongside Barilla managers to build a better food system together. It is an initiative to give startups the opportunity to show their potential in solving compelling use cases.

Plug and Play drives innovation by connecting the brightest minds. They want to build a smart future. To achieve that, they are building a unique ecosystem that connects change-makers and leading organizations. Their network consists of over 75,000 startups, 500+ world-leading corporations, and hundreds of venture capital firms, universities, and government agencies across multiple industries.

Eligibility

They are looking for the following solutions:

  • Al technology tools to facilitate meaningful consumer insights collection and analysis.
  • Innovative solutions that would allow salt and sugar reduction with no compromise on texture, taste and flavour.
  • New equipment solutions for more efficient and sustainable energy generation.
  • Digital tools for newcomers on-boarding in production plants.

Benefits

For each category, one startup will be selected to access the program.

  • Selection: Startups applying to the Call for Application will pass through a selection process based on the criteria defined by the Barilla’s managers involved in the challenges. For each challenge, one startup will be selected to access the eight-week project collaboration.
  • Assess & Plan: Once selected for Good Food Makers, each startup will meet the designated Barilla team, will set goals for the upcoming eight weeks, brainstorm solutions, and make an action plan to execute together, including the use of the €10,000 PoC funding.
  • Innovate: Each startup will have Barilla’s pilot plant at their disposal to experiment, prototype and iterate with the Barilla team, based on desired outcomes. They will also access Barilla’s manager invaluable know-how to grow their business even further.
  • Partner: Based on the outcome of the PoC, both parties will decide if they want to continue developing a widely marketable solution. Ongoing technical support, co-branded products, first corporate customers, and investment could be opportunities for the selected startup for future collaboration.
