REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants should operate an existing and operational business.
  • The business must have been operational for at least 12 months.
  • They must possess a comprehensive business plan.
  • Applicants must have an active FCMB account with a minimum balance of N5,000.
  • In the case of WSMEs, the primary applicant must hold any one of the following:
    • A minimum stake of 51% ownership
    • The business should have at least 20% ownership from a minimum of three female members within the management team
    • Or the business can be solely owned
  • Applicants must use the competition winnings for business-related purposes, as outlined in their application. T&Cs apply.
  • Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline, and late submissions will not be considered.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week Program is organized by First City Monument Bank Limited, hereinafter referred to as “the Organizer”. The program aims to provide participating SMEs hereinafter referred to as “Participant/Applicant” with educational resources and grant to enhance their businesses.

2. ELIGIBILITY

  1. Applicants must have an active FCMB account with a minimum balance.
  2. They must possess a comprehensive business plan.
  3. Applicants should operate an existing, operational and registered business.
  4. The business must have been operational for at least 12 months.
  5. In the case of WSMEs, the following criteria must be met:
    • The business must be a legally registered business.
    • The business must be owned by a woman, meaning the MD or CEO is a woman.
    • At least 51% shares of the company are owned by women or
    • At least three of the company’s directors must be female and 20% of the company shares must be owned by women. A minimum of 20% of the company’s shares should be female-owned, and the company should have a minimum of three female directors.
  6. The SME must be a legally registered business in the applicable jurisdiction.
  7. Participation in the Program is subject to acceptance by the Organizer.
  8. Submission of incomplete or false information during the application process may lead to disqualification.

3. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Register for the event
  • Complete a Business account opening with an opening balance of at least N5000
  • Actively engage with program content and attend scheduled sessions.
  • Complete & submit any assigned tasks and assignments provided as part of the program
  • Meet the set criteria to be selected as a beneficiary of the ₦250,000 worth of business training or be amongst the 10% to be eligible for a ₦1,000,000 score grant.

4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND USAGE OF INFORMATION

By Participating in the Program, Participants grant the Organizer the right to use any feedback, contributions, or information shared during the Program for promotional or informational purposes.

5. DATA PRIVACY

The Organizer will handle personal information in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any applicable data protection laws and regulations.

6. PROGRAM OUTCOMES

It is important to note that while the Program aims to provide valuable knowledge and resources, the Organizer does not guarantee any specific business outcomes as a result of participating in the program.

7. MODIFICATION

The Organizer reserves the right to modify or terminate the Program at any time, without liability and shall provide reasonable notice to Participants regarding any changes.

8. COMPLIANCE AND TERMINATION

Participants found to be in violation of these terms or applicable laws that contradicts the legal nature of running an SME or participants that have committed any form of misrepresentation or under sanction by any reputable laws may be removed from the program at the discretion of the Organizers.

9. THE GRANT

  • Eligible Participants may benefit from the Grant, subject to meeting criteria specified by the Organizer.
  • The participant acknowledges and agrees that any grant availed under this program shall be used strictly for business-related purposes, as outlined in their application.

10. LEGAL BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Applicants affirm that their business operations fully adhere to applicable laws and regulations.

11. CONFIDENTIALITY

Participants shall maintain the confidentiality of received information, refraining from sharing it with third parties without the express written approval of the Organizer or any partner organization.

12. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

  • These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  • The Organizer and the Participant shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

13. MISCELLANEOUS

These terms and conditions delineate the expectations, responsibilities, and benefits of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Program.

By participating, individuals acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.

The Organizer will provide additional details about the Global Entrepreneurship Week Program as may be required to eligible Participants.
