Are you an ambitious and dynamic female entrepreneur who is ready to take your business to the next level? Apply now for the Standard Bank Basali Development Program 2024. This is a 12-month program hosted virtually, anchored on business development through a series of structured workshops and masterclasses, each strategically designed for you to build a thriving and resilient business.

Since November 2021, Standard Bank in partnership with Giving Wings launched the Basali Development Programme. The name Basali (pronounced Basadi) is derived from Southern Sotho which means ‘women’. Each year they travel a journey of business development with female entrepreneurs, through practical online workshops and masterclasses led by subject experts to equip entrepreneurs with valuable knowledge and skills that will enable them to build thriving and resilient businesses.

To date, the Basali Development Programme has made significant strides in growing and scaling over 200 participating businesses across South Africa by creating access to funding, markets, and development.

Eligibility

  • Open to 51% or more black women-owned business (black as defined by the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act).
  • The business must be registered with CIPC.
  • The beneficiary must be a South African citizen trading in South Africa.
  • Total annual revenue of less than R10 million.
  • Commercially viable operations with foreseeable growth.
  • Not an Alumni of the Basali Development Programme.
  • Not a Standard Bank employee.
