The Umi Mentorship Program is one of the flagship products at Umi. It helps new mothers and mums of children below 3 years old become better versions of themselves as mothers, wives, partners and professionals by tapping into the wealth of knowledge, experiences and network of mothers who have walked this path of motherhood and have excelled at it.
They started the mentorship program in June 2023 for mothers interested in having successful careers without losing on the home front and have paired mothers from 12 African countries (Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. in Nigeria, South Africa and the United Kingdom) with experienced mentors who help them in their motherhood and professional journeys.
The program runs for three months. The next cohort will run from February to April, 2025. It is virtual. However, if you and your mentor hit it off greatly and choose to meet in person, the organisers will not stop you.
