Call for Applications: World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator Equity-Free Funding (Up to US$100,00)
Share

The World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator is calling on innovators across the world to apply for support aimed at scaling solutions that address some of the most urgent humanitarian and development challenges of our time. This opportunity is designed for startups, NGOs, social enterprises, and mission-driven companies working to improve food security, strengthen climate resilience, support livelihoods, and enhance emergency response in fragile and crisis-affected contexts.

The Innovation Accelerator goes beyond funding. It is a global platform that helps high-potential ideas move from pilot stage to real-world impact by connecting innovators with technical expertise, operational support, and access to WFP’s extensive field presence and global partnerships. Selected solutions are supported to test, refine, and scale in environments where they are needed most.

Why This Opportunity Matters

Millions of people around the world continue to face food insecurity, climate shocks, displacement, and economic instability. The WFP Innovation Accelerator plays a critical role in identifying and scaling solutions that can deliver sustainable impact in these contexts. By supporting innovators with flexible, non-dilutive funding and real-world testing environments, the programme helps turn promising ideas into solutions that can improve lives at scale.

Who Can Apply

  • The programme is open to innovators worldwide, including early-stage and more mature organisations, as long as their solution demonstrates strong potential for impact.
  • Eligible applicants include startups, NGOs, social enterprises, and companies developing technological, digital, or innovative delivery models.
  • Solutions must align with humanitarian, development, and resilience-building objectives, particularly those related to food systems, climate adaptation, livelihoods, and crisis response.

Funding and Support

  • Selected innovators can receive up to US$100,000 in equity-free funding.
  • In addition to financial support, participants benefit from hands-on technical assistance, tailored mentorship, and guidance from WFP experts.
  • Innovators also gain access to WFP’s global network, including opportunities to pilot and scale solutions through WFP’s country operations and partnerships.

Application Details
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing innovators to apply when their solution is ready. Interested applicants are encouraged to clearly outline the problem they are addressing, how their solution works, the impact potential, and how support from WFP would help scale their innovation.
