The YIA Fellowship is a year-long flagship program aimed at preparing the next generation of African leaders who are capable of making a significant impact in the field of agrifood systems. The fellowship will provide hands-on experience in data and impact measurement, equipping participants with the tools and skills needed to evaluate and demonstrate the impact of socially inclusive interventions in agrifood systems across Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:

Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

Countries: The fellowship is open to young people from Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda.

Education Level: Applicants should have a background in any of the following fields: agricultural sciences, social sciences, economics, or related fields. Additional professional experience in impact measurement, research, or consulting is a plus.

Program Duration: The fellowship lasts for one year.

Program Structure: The fellowship will provide participants with exposure to a variety of fields related to impact measurement and agrifood systems, equipping them with the necessary skills to make a significant contribution to Africa’s agrifood systems.

Partner Organizations: The fellowship is implemented by a consortium of prestigious organizations, including CIFOR-ICRAF, African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), and Akademiya2063.

Program Focus: The fellowship aims to accelerate the careers of emerging African leaders in impact measurement, research, and consulting. It will provide participants with tools to evaluate, package, and demonstrate the impact of socially inclusive interventions in agrifood systems.
