Call for Applications: Youth Climate Justice Fund 2026 Grants (Up to USD 40,000 Grant)
Share

The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) is set to open its 2026 application round, inviting emerging youth-led climate justice and socio-environmental groups to apply for funding support. The Fund is designed to strengthen grassroots and national movements led by young people who are working to advance climate justice, environmental protection, and social equity.

Through a participatory grant-making model, YCJF places decision-making power in the hands of youth, ensuring that funding reaches initiatives that are community-driven, inclusive, and grounded in local realities.

About the Youth Climate Justice Fund

The Youth Climate Justice Fund supports young people who are organizing, advocating, and implementing solutions to address the climate crisis and its social impacts. The Fund prioritizes groups that are rooted in their communities and are actively challenging climate injustice at local and national levels.

Why This Fund Matters
Young people are at the forefront of climate action globally, yet they often face barriers in accessing flexible and meaningful funding. The Youth Climate Justice Fund helps close this gap by directly resourcing youth-led movements, amplifying marginalized voices, and supporting solutions that are grounded in lived experience and local knowledge.

By supporting youth leadership, the Fund contributes to stronger, more inclusive climate movements capable of driving long-term systemic change.

Grant Size
Eligible groups may apply for:

  • Up to USD 20,000 for local-level youth-led groups
  • Up to USD 40,000 for national-level youth-led groups

Funding can be used to strengthen ongoing initiatives, scale impact, build organizational capacity, and advance climate justice work that centers equity, inclusion, and sustainability.

Who Can Apply
Applications are open to:

  • Youth-led climate justice and socio-environmental groups
  • Emerging organizations working at local or national levels
  • Groups led primarily by young people and focused on community-based or national climate action
Initiatives addressing the intersection of climate change, social justice, and environmental protection
  • Both formally registered and informal groups may be eligible, provided they meet YCJF’s youth-led and mission-aligned criteria.

How to Apply
Interested groups are encouraged to review the full eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and timelines on the official YCJF website. Applications for the 2026 funding round will be submitted online once the call officially opens.
