At the 58th Annual Bankers’ Dinner and 60th Anniversary celebrations of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos, Ngozi Kekwaaru and Auwalu Alkasim received the Outstanding Integrity Award for their exceptional honesty. Kekwaaru, an employee at Eko Hotel and Suites, returned $70,000 left by a guest, while Alkasim, a tricycle driver in Kano, returned N15 million forgotten by a passenger in his tricycle.
In recognition of their exemplary acts, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) presented both individuals with a cash gift of N1 million each, applauding their ethical conduct and commitment to integrity. Yemisi Edun, the Managing Director of FCMB, lauded their actions as a beacon of hope in a world where integrity is scarce, emphasizing that their principled behavior resonates deeply with FCMB’s core values.
Dr. Ken Opara, President/Chairman of the Council of CIBN, commended Kekwaaru and Alkasim for embodying the true essence of integrity.
