In a significant move at the 28th edition Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai, the Cross River State Government inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oando Clean Energy (OCEL), the renewable energy arm of Oando Energy Resources. This MoU focuses on the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) for mass transportation and establishing a 100MW wind plant for power generation within the state.
At the signing ceremony, the state’s Commissioner for Special Duties, Oden Ewa, who represented the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in advancing the state towards a more sustainable future. He emphasized that the agreement signifies a transition to cleaner and more cost-effective fuels for the mass transit system while harnessing wind energy for electrification purposes.
Commending Oando Clean Energy for its innovative solutions in addressing climate change impacts in Nigeria, Ewa lauded the MoU as a landmark achievement.
