Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price for Marketers
Share

Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, for marketers. The price has been adjusted from N990 per litre to N970 per litre, as stated by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer.

The statement emphasized that the price reduction is a gesture of appreciation to Nigerians for their unwavering support in making the Dangote Refinery a reality. It also acknowledged the government’s role in fostering a favorable environment for domestic enterprise.

“This is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true. It is also to thank the government for their support as this will complement measures to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement read.

Commitment to Quality and Adequate Supply

Dangote Refinery assured stakeholders of its commitment to:

  1. Ramping up Production: To meet and surpass Nigeria’s domestic fuel consumption, ensuring a stable supply.
  2. Maintaining Product Quality: Providing environmentally friendly and sustainable petroleum products.
  3. Avoiding Supply Shortages: Dispelling fears of potential shortfalls in fuel supply.

Economic and Environmental Benefits

This reduction in petrol price is expected to ease the burden on marketers and potentially lower costs for consumers. Additionally, the refinery’s focus on sustainability aligns with global standards for environmentally friendly energy production.

The Dangote Refinery’s price review underscores its role as a key player in Nigeria’s energy sector, contributing to domestic fuel availability while supporting the economy. As production increases, the refinery’s impact on stabilizing fuel supply and prices is expected to grow, offering benefits to both marketers and consumers.
