DBN and GAIN Launch 3rd Edition of Entrepreneurship Masterclass to Empower 350 Women Entrepreneurs in Nigeria
Share

The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) and Grand Africa Initiative (GAIN) have launched the third edition of the *GAIN Entrepreneurship Masterclass for Women*, aimed at empowering 350 female entrepreneurs across Nigeria. This initiative provides participants with essential skills to grow and scale their businesses through a comprehensive six-week virtual training program.

Applications for the masterclass opened on September 6, 2024.

The program will focus on key areas such as financial literacy, business modeling, strategic marketing, customer management, and legal aspects of business. It is specifically designed to address challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, equipping them with the tools needed to thrive in the country’s rapidly growing economy.

“At DBN, we believe women entrepreneurs are vital to Nigeria’s sustainable development. This partnership with GAIN reaffirms our commitment to supporting women-led MSMEs by providing them with the necessary knowledge and financial empowerment to succeed,” said Dr. Tony Okpanachi, Managing Director/CEO of DBN. “Through initiatives like this, we aim to close the gender gap in entrepreneurship, ensuring equal access to resources, training, and financing.”

Janet Oladapo, Program Officer for GAIN, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’ve seen remarkable success in previous editions of our masterclasses, and we’re excited to extend this opportunity to more women entrepreneurs in 2024. The masterclass offers not only high-quality training but also networking opportunities and mentorship from seasoned global experts.”

The initiative aligns with DBN and GAIN’s broader mission to empower African women and youth by providing the skills and resources needed for sustainable economic development. Both organizations continue to support MSMEs in Nigeria, creating an enabling environment for their growth by addressing financing constraints and building capacity.

With the masterclass, female entrepreneurs across Nigeria will gain the knowledge and support to take their businesses to the next level, driving economic progress across the region..
