The Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has taken significant strides in fostering entrepreneurship by equipping beneficiaries with starter packs, financial support, and training in diverse trades.
Speaking at the event, DESOPADEC Commissioner Jonathan Izoukumor emphasized the initiative’s aim to bridge gaps in business development. “These starter packs and funds provide the resources needed for our beneficiaries to thrive as entrepreneurs,” he stated.
Izoukumor urged beneficiaries to avoid misusing the resources, noting that monitoring teams have been deployed to ensure proper utilization and provide guidance. “These tools are not for sale but for creating growth opportunities,” he stressed.
Starter packs include laptops, hairdryers, ovens, freezers, generators, and other equipment tailored for trades like ICT, fashion design, catering, and welding. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the life-changing support.
