Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has revealed plans to provide interest-free loans to traders across the state starting in January 2025. Speaking at the New Festival Hall in Benin City, he emphasized that the initiative is aimed at improving the livelihoods of Edo citizens and driving sustainable economic growth through empowerment.

The interest-free loans will provide crucial financial support to traders, allowing them to expand their businesses and contribute to the state’s economic development. Additionally, Governor Okpebholo highlighted plans to revolutionize the agricultural sector by introducing mechanized farming in January 2025. This initiative aims to boost food production, create jobs, and ensure food security for the people of Edo State.

Mrs. Josephine Ebhaguejeze, President of the Edo State Association of Commodity Market Women and Men, expressed her gratitude for the Governor’s initiative, calling it a potential game-changer for traders and farmers in the state. She assured the administration of the Association’s continued support.
