Set to commence on January 23, the Ekiti Enterprise Challenge (EEC) gears up to support and champion emerging young entrepreneurs within Ekiti State, marking its evolution since its inception in 2020 with a vision to cultivate and amplify youthful business initiatives.
Mr. Akintunde Babalola, the Media aide to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, affirmed that the groundwork for EEC 2024 began in June 2023, attracting a robust response of 180 applications. Following meticulous reviews, a rigorous physical screening was conducted to curate the final list of participants.
Scheduled for January 23, 2024, the upcoming immersive residential boot camp aims to equip participants with vital skills to present their businesses before a panel of judges, vying for substantial prizes and invaluable benefits.
Dr. Olusegun Dada, a seasoned CBN/EDI consultant with over three decades of experience, leads the esteemed faculty for the 2024 edition. Supported by esteemed business coaches, including Mr. Femi Edwards of Mayphem International, Dr. Marvelous Oluwasegun, Mr. Godspower Omolere, an EDI certified Trainer, and Mrs. Yemisi Akin-Babalola FCA, among others.
The Chairman of EEC’s Board of Trustees, Engr Dare Ojo, focuses on reducing poverty, creating youth employment, and bolstering Ekiti’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by aiding existing businesses to scale up significantly.
Mr. Babalola expressed confidence that comprehensive training, networking opportunities, and grants will enable these businesses to expand, create employment, and attain sustainability. He highlighted the success of past EEC winner, Freedom Leather, whose market reach expanded beyond Ekiti State, demonstrating the effectiveness of supporting multiple enterprises concurrently to achieve the program’s core goals.
The pinnacle of Ekiti Enterprise Challenge 2024, encompassing the grand finale and prize presentations, is slated for Saturday, January 27th, 2024, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
