The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD), has reopened the application portal for Batch B of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP), an initiative aimed at empowering Nigerian youths with funding, training, and entrepreneurial support.
The programme offers grants ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 to help young Nigerians start or expand their small businesses, with a goal of reducing poverty, promoting innovation, and driving economic growth through enterprise creation.
According to the ministry, YEIDEP is part of the government’s wider economic empowerment plan to create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen national security through productive youth engagement. It also seeks to promote the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across key sectors.
Applicants are encouraged to apply if they have an interest or existing business in fields such as agriculture, technology, fashion, renewable energy, entertainment, sports, or ICT. In addition to financial support, successful participants will receive business training, mentorship, and market linkage opportunities to ensure long-term sustainability.
Eligibility requirements include being a Nigerian citizen between 18 and 35 years old, possessing a National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN), and maintaining or opening a business account with one of the partner banks, Lotus Bank, Keystone Bank, or Fidelity Bank.
The ministry explained that although the YEIDEP grant is a one-time financial support, beneficiaries will continue to access post-funding mentorship and enterprise development programmes to strengthen their business capacity.
Interested applicants are advised to register through the official YEIDEP portal and visit any designated partner bank with their membership code to complete their account setup and verification.
