The Federal Government has unveiled plans to generate at least 100,000 verifiable jobs by May 29, with a target of creating 384,000 jobs over four years.
Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the President on MSMEs and Job Creation, made this announcement at the Inaugural Job Creation and MSME Quarterly Communications Forum in Abuja.
The initiative, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, aims to foster job creation, with a particular focus on partnerships with organizations like Access Bank.
Adekunle-Johnson highlighted Access Bank’s commitment to supporting MSMEs, offering loans at a reduced interest rate of 15% and simplifying collateral requirements for loans ranging from N1 to N3 million.
In alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Federal Government is dedicated to creating an enabling environment for MSMEs, recognizing their vital role in economic development.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business, improving access to financing, providing critical infrastructure, capacity building, and fostering entrepreneurial skills to bolster MSMEs’ growth and resilience despite challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.
