The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with Intelligent Innovations, has launched the Happy Woman Platform, a national digital ecosystem designed to empower 10 million Nigerian women with access to financing, digital tools, mentorship, and skills for sustainable economic independence.
Unveiled on Friday in Lagos, the platform seeks to close the opportunity gap for women across Nigeria by connecting micro-entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives to vital resources that promote financial freedom and long-term growth.
According to the organisers, the Happy Woman Platform offers an integrated suite of opportunities, including access to loans, grants, business growth tools, and training programs to enhance employability and entrepreneurship. It also includes wellness partnerships that provide affordable healthcare packages for women.
Some flagship initiatives under the platform include Empower Her Financial Literacy Training by Kudimata, a mandatory entry program on financial management for women seeking funding opportunities; The One Million Women Economic Empowerment Program, which provides low-interest loans, equipment financing, and business support for female entrepreneurs; The Happy Woman Founders Challenge, a national competition funding 1,000 women-led innovative businesses; and The Happy Woman Creator Program, designed to support 10,000 female digital creators with mentorship, gadgets, and monetisation opportunities.
Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, described the initiative as a major turning point for women’s economic inclusion in Nigeria. “It’s Woman’O’clock in Nigeria! The Happy Woman Platform represents a new dawn for Nigerian women, a future where access to opportunities, funding, and digital empowerment are no longer limited by background or circumstance,” she said. “This aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring no woman is left behind in our nation’s economic transformation.”
Chief Executive Officer of Intelligent Innovations, Kunle Erinle, said the platform is built to connect women to financial freedom through technology and partnerships. “Our goal is to link 10 million Nigerian women to opportunities that transform lives. By leveraging technology, data, and collaboration, we’re creating a single gateway for women to access funding, training, visibility, and community,” he explained.
Co-founder of the initiative, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, expressed delight at the project’s launch after years of development, describing it as a new era for Nigerian women. “This platform represents access to funding, information, and empowerment opportunities that can transform lives. I encourage every woman to sign up and be part of this movement,” she said.
The platform will partner with organisations in finance, technology, insurance, and consumer goods to expand its reach. Organisers project that it will create millions of jobs, boost women-led entrepreneurship, and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s GDP.
Women across the country can now register via the official Happy Woman portal to begin their journey toward financial inclusion, skills growth, and economic empowerment.
