Pettysave Microfinance Bank has launched a new financial technology platform, Genius App, at the sixth edition of the Wealth Summit in Lagos. The app is designed to provide savings, credit, and business tools to help Nigerians navigate the country’s tough economic environment.
The event, organised by Pertinence Group under the theme “The Real Money of Lagos,” drew more than 7,000 participants, including students, entrepreneurs, professionals, and industry leaders. It provided a platform for sharing practical strategies to create wealth despite inflation and rising unemployment.
Speaking at the launch, the Chairman of Pettysave Microfinance Bank, who also co-founded Pertinence Group, described the app as a groundbreaking tool that expands financial access for individuals and small businesses. He explained that the Genius App was built to help people achieve financial freedom, stressing that the goal is not just to complain about economic hardship but to provide solutions that improve lives, much like a software update.
He noted that the Wealth Summit, now in its sixth year, has always been more about impact than numbers. According to him, the gathering serves as a platform where people return better equipped to perform in business and life. Over the past decade, Pertinence platforms have supported the creation of more than 100 businesses while providing thousands of Nigerians with incentives such as vehicles, home ownership, and international trips.
Also addressing participants, the Chairman of Coscharis Group urged young Nigerians to embrace discipline and long-term vision in order to secure their financial future. He advised against reckless spending and emphasised the importance of saving from an early age. Sharing his journey from street hawking at the age of 10 to building one of Nigeria’s largest conglomerates, he stressed that value creation, access, and relationships are key ingredients for success.
Pertinence Group’s Co-founder highlighted resourcefulness as a critical driver of entrepreneurship, noting that capital is not always the first requirement. Drawing from his personal story of self-education after leaving school at JSS2, he said that consistent effort, persistence, and adaptability are what eventually attract opportunities and resources.
A financial literacy advocate at the summit commended the organisers for consistently providing practical systems that empower Nigerians to move from struggle to progress. He explained that the Wealth Summit is helping to bridge the wealth gap by showing people not just motivational ideas but also habits and structures they can apply in daily life.
The launch of the Genius App marks a major step in strengthening Nigeria’s financial inclusion drive, offering individuals and MSMEs tools that can support growth in challenging times.
