The Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim Foundation, a non-profit humanitarian organization, granted approximately N20 million on Wednesday to empower small-scale entrepreneurs in Kwara State. This initiative is part of the foundation’s economic empowerment program aimed at supporting vulnerable sections of society.

Highlights of the Event:

  1. Empowerment Initiative:

   – The foundation, promoted by former presidential candidate Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, aims to lift vulnerable Nigerians out of poverty and set them on a path of productivity.

   – About N20 million was disbursed to small-scale entrepreneurs as part of this initiative.

  1. Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim’s Remarks:

   – Olawepo-Hashim emphasized his longstanding commitment to societal betterment, driven by a passion for helping people rather than personal wealth.

   – He urged the beneficiaries to use the grant wisely, investing it to generate more income rather than spending it on non-essential items.

  1. Historical Perspective and Vision:

   – Olawepo-Hashim reminisced about Nigeria’s past as a productive nation and encouraged a return to such productivity through small but significant steps.

   – He reiterated his commitment to showing love and support to the underprivileged, a practice he has maintained for decades.

  1. 4. Support and Acknowledgements:

   – Mallam Naallah Azeez, coordinator of the Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim Youth Vanguard, praised Olawepo-Hashim as a mentor and a key figure in the Otoge revolution that changed Kwara State’s political dynamics in 2019.

   – Mr. Yinka Babatunde Alanamu and Pastor Samson Abodunrin commended Olawepo-Hashim for his philanthropic efforts, including road grading and drainage construction in the Ifesowapo Community area of Ilorin.

  1. Community Impact and Praise:

   – Pastor Abodunrin highlighted the importance of appreciating Olawepo-Hashim’s contributions, which have significantly benefited the community.

   – Several participants at the event expressed their gratitude to the foundation and called on other Nigerians to emulate Olawepo-Hashim’s non-partisan approach to aiding the less privileged.

  1. 6. Future and Ongoing Efforts:

   – Mr. Kamal Adebayo, Chief of Staff to Olawepo-Hashim, noted that the Ilorin event was not an isolated incident, as many Nigerians have benefited from similar initiatives by the foundation across the country.

The event underscored the Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim Foundation’s commitment to economic empowerment and social justice, aiming to create a ripple effect of productivity and support among small-scale entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
