Google Unveils High-End AI Ultra Plan, Targeting Power Users with Premium Features
Share

Google has launched a new artificial intelligence subscription service, Google AI Ultra, offering exclusive access to its most advanced AI tools and features. Positioned above its current AI Pro plan, the Ultra service is priced at ₦359,000 per month, with a discounted ₦179,000/month for the first three months for Nigerian users. In comparison, the existing AI Pro subscription costs ₦28,500/month after a free trial.

Described as a “VIP pass for Google AI,” the plan is designed for early adopters and tech enthusiasts seeking cutting-edge innovation. According to Google Labs executive Josh Woodward, the service is tailored for users “who want the absolute best of what Google AI can offer.”

Key features of the AI Ultra plan include:

  • Gemini 2.5 Pro DeepThink  for complex reasoning (upcoming)
  • Veo, Google’s top-tier video generation model
  • Flow, an AI filmmaking tool integrated with Veo 3
  • Whisk, supporting image-to-video via Veo 2
  • NotebookLM with enhanced limits and capabilities (upcoming)
  • Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more, with maximum usage capacity
  • Project Mariner, an early-access automation and research tool
  • YouTube Premium Subscription
  • 30TB of storage across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail

Currently available in the United States, the AI Ultra plan is expected to roll out to other markets, including Nigeria, in the coming months.

With a steep monthly price of $249.99, Google AI Ultra enters the premium end of the AI market, directly challenging competitors like OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro, which charges $200/month.

Other major players in the AI subscription space offer significantly lower prices:

  • Anthropic’s Claude Pro – $20/month
  • Microsoft’s Copilot Pro – $21/month, integrated with Office apps
  • Perplexity Pro – $20/month for top-tier research tools
  • DeepSeek – pay-as-you-go model aimed at developers

While AI Ultra’s expansive feature set is a clear bid to attract serious AI users, its high cost may limit its adoption to only the most dedicated professionals and creators, particularly as many competitors continue to offer strong functionality at a fraction of the price.
