Gtext Grant $100,000 to 20 Entrepreneurs, Plans to Extend Aid to 100 African Startups
Share

Stephen Akintayo, via his foundation, the Stephen Akintayo Foundation, has generously granted $5,000 to 20 young entrepreneurs, intending to expand this support to 100 African startups in the coming year, emphasizing the drive to uplift budding businesses.

In tandem with this initiative, Rana Ijaz Ahmad assumes the role of Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) at Gtext Holdings, signaling the company’s aim to broaden its scope and access venture capital globally, particularly in the United States.

The transition, steered by Dr. Stephen Akintayo, the founder and former GCEO, aligns with the firm’s strategic aspirations, including ambitious goals such as constructing a thousand homes in the United States and Nigeria.

Gtext Homes, a significant entity under Gtext Holdings, is known as Africa’s largest developer of eco-friendly and intelligent homes, with Dr. Akintayo transitioning to the role of Chairman.

During a recent gathering tagged ‘Mentees Meet Investors’ in Lagos, the company’s investors convened, accompanied by leaders from various Gtext Holdings subsidiaries, discussing future strategies and visions for the firm.

Rana Ijaz Ahmad, appointed as GCEO, brings over 25 years of diverse professional experience in industries spanning corporate and investment banking, fund management, hospitality, real estate, and oil and gas across the Middle East and Europe.

Dr. Akintayo, expressing his rationale for stepping down as GCEO, highlighted the need to attract institutional funding to meet the demands and expansion plans, particularly for Gtext Homes and other subsidiaries within Gtext Holdings.

Focusing on real estate after his initial foray into bulk SMS business, Dr. Akintayo has expanded his entrepreneurial ventures to cater to the diverse needs of the real estate sector, aiming to enhance customer service through strategic access to financial resources.
