HerSync, an innovative African health-tech startup, has officially launched Africa’s first multilingual AI-powered health assistant and smart cycle tracker, designed to tackle reproductive health challenges that are often overlooked in schools, workplaces, and even health systems.
In a statement released on Thursday, the company said its app is positioned as a culturally relevant, tech-driven companion for women across all stages of life, from adolescence through adulthood.
Unlike traditional cycle trackers that mostly focus on menstruation and ovulation, HerSync integrates features that reflect the unique realities of African women. The app offers multilingual support in major African languages, offline functionality for areas with poor internet connectivity, and even partner nudges that encourage loved ones to actively participate in women’s health journeys.
At launch, all premium features have been made free, giving users access to a comprehensive suite of tools. These include:
AI-powered cycle and symptom tracking
A 24/7 voice-enabled health assistant
Multilingual reproductive health education resources
Privacy-focused controls for data security
Partner engagement tools with shared health insights
Referral rewards to foster community growt
The app’s early adoption highlights the demand for women-centered digital health solutions. Since its soft launch in early 2025, HerSync has already reached more than 3,500 women and girls, with a goal of 10,000 users by the end of the year. Reviews across app stores describe the app as “culturally relevant, intuitive, and empowering,” with an impressive 4.9-star rating.
HerSync has also gained visibility on global tech stages. As of May 31, 2025, it ranked first in Medical apps on the Nigerian Apple App Store and fourth on the Nigerian Google Play Store. The company showcased its innovation at GITEX Nigeria 2025 in Lagos, where Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the platform for its mission and user-friendly design.
“Our mission is clear: making 24/7 female reproductive and workplace wellbeing accessible,” said Philip Igboba, Co-founder and CEO of HerSync. “Together with our team of AI, engineering, and community health experts, we are setting bold growth targets to reach millions of women across Africa and beyond.”
HerSync’s medical and strategic direction is spearheaded by Adeh Chioma, Medical and Strategy Lead, who ensures that the app’s clinical approach remains evidence-based, safe, and empathetic. “HerSync is more than a cycle tracker, it’s a trusted companion that speaks women’s language, respects their privacy, and supports their health every day,” she noted.
Looking ahead, the startup has set an ambitious goal to reach 500,000 women globally by 2027, with a long-term vision of transforming reproductive and workplace wellbeing through predictive, empathetic, and accessible technology.
HerSync’s launch signals a major step in Africa’s digital health revolution, especially in women’s health a sector long underserved by both traditional systems and mainstream technology.
