How to Stay Focus as a Techie: Essential Strategies for Tech Entrepreneurs to Boost Productivity and Achieve Success
Share

According to the Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, a Techie is one who is an expert in technology-related activities and enthusiastic about Information Communication Technology…

In the world today, especially here in Africa, many people seem to bask in the fame that accompanies the name – TechBro, TechG, while escaping the work to put in that will give visible achievement. Paradoxically enough, those who have made the big waves in tech try to resent the name (Techie) by proclaiming that they are still learning. But the beauty of it is just that Techies (Acknowledged or Unacknowledged) are people who bring beauty to the ecosystem of any workplace as they tend to offer services to the workplace in order to give fast-paced and oriented results.

Fortunately, we have all experienced this feeling whereby one is set to work on a project for the day but ends up not even starting to talk less about achieving a good feat. This is not normal. It is as a result of toxic distractions while one has access to a speedy computer system and fast internet connection. This distraction that follows through the vast space of the internet is one that can hinder progress while also acting as a source of exploration of an array of opportunities. I am here to guide you on how to install a focused mindset as a Techie who aims to be productive in Projects. Keep in mind – Deep work as I will use this word often while we explore this blog

As a Techie who aims to give maximum productivity to the ecosystem of the workplace, here are few steps (the rest can be achieved through self-discovery) that are essential; to take control while on copilot.

Have a Purpose – A purpose is what? The purpose of life is a life of purpose (goes a saying). In this aspect, your purpose is your high-tech skill. A high-tech skill is not just an ordinary skill but a skill that is in constant demand in the Tech Sphere E.g. Product Management, Digital Management, Programming…whereby it gives you a fulfillment that you are on track. In this fast-paced world, a purposeful action is driving a force that gets one established this is what will give you the direction in the right place without this, there is no beginning. Your skill is your purpose and with this you conquer terrains in the Tech Sphere. Just as purpose is required to live a fulfilled life, a high-demand skill is required to live a fulfilled Tech Life

Have an intention – it is well known that knowledge is power. Consequently, applied knowledge is really power. After having a purpose, having an intention is what will keep you organized in the fast-paced digital age. Your list of intentions as a project manager could be strategic plans for a stipulated amount of time in order to be guided to an orderly accomplishment. An intention as a coder code be to build various products that will make life easier or services that could be used as software. These intentions are what will give your great achievements. Without action, intention is not relevant, so, backing up words with action is essential as a Techie. Ensure you use your time as a Time Keeper. Set your priorities and act on goals in order to be focused. Procrastinate not more but less

…in a world of lots of information hoarded online, learn to summarize and conclude on what you know is very crucial to your set goals in order to live a focused life. FOCUS IS THE FASTEST WAY TO KILL A BIRD

Be disciplined – According to various experiences, it is obvious that life is not even easy talk less of just easy. Certainly, discipline is essential to achieve success (ask Naval Ravikant). Total determination as a Techie to work on a project or task or work and beat all odds no matter what it will take out as this is the only cheat code to entrepreneurship (a discussion for later)

Focus + Discipline = Undistracted Techie

Use the time for Deep work – While in school, we learn that energy is the ability to do work as a sound body determines a sound mind that will give productive work. Now, the truth of the matter is this – if google works 10hrs in a day and Meta does in 7hrs, many will say that Google will be more productive; fortunately, productivity is not just the number of hours put in save the “amount of work put into the number of hours” in order to achieve a set goal. Three hours of focused work is productive far more than seven hours of shabby work (know this and be productive). As a Techie, never neglect the power of productivity in achieving set goals. Learn to be creative with the time you have in a day which is less than 24 hours, learn to automate nonessential task and to delegate tedious task (not all tasks is tedious as what you like to do should not work but be fun). So, in order to stay on the high scale of demand for skill, learn to be focused and avoid distractions. These are the only ways to productivity; if there were three, you would know.

In conclusion, living a focused life as a Techie is more of an inside job, you have to visualize yourself as one with that kind of trait. It is also important that you determine your direction and not listen to the trends. You just have to start and the flow will click, avoid any good news that it will be an easy ride. Get shaped in the tough times so you can prove yourself when the hard times rage. In all, remain ever consistent

In total conclusion, Fear God and Get Focused
