IgniteHer Bootcamp Empowers Women Entrepreneurs with Digital Skills, Business Strategies
Share

The IgniteHer Bootcamp, a five-day initiative by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), concluded on March 7, equipping 90 women entrepreneurs with essential digital and business skills to scale their ventures.

As part of NITDA’s commitment to gender inclusivity and digital transformation, the program tackled systemic barriers hindering women’s participation in entrepreneurship. Participants engaged in expert-led sessions covering business development, financial management, and technology-driven growth strategies.

The bootcamp opened with discussions on gender disparities in business, addressing funding gaps and societal biases. Subsequent sessions focused on structured business planning, digital literacy, and leveraging AI for business expansion. On the final day, industry experts, including a venture capitalist and an entrepreneur, shared insights on securing funding and overcoming challenges.

Participants praised the program’s impact, with Imaobong Edukere describing it as “transformative” and Hadiza Isah Mohammed crediting it for reigniting her entrepreneurial drive.

NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting women-led businesses in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Additionally, JICA’s involvement will connect Nigerian entrepreneurs with Japanese companies, with selected participants set to attend a startup event in Japan in August 2025.

By providing access to digital tools, expert mentorship, and a strong support network, IgniteHer Bootcamp has set a new standard for empowering women entrepreneurs in Nigeria’s digital economy.
