inDrive Deploys ₦75m Relief to Support Displaced Lagos Communities, Vulnerable Livelihoods
Share

Global mobility platform inDrive has deployed more than ₦75 million in emergency relief to support Lagos residents displaced by recent community demolitions, reinforcing its people-first approach to social impact and community empowerment.

Delivered in partnership with the Tolu Aniwura Welfare Foundation, also known as GenerousMe, the intervention reached over 2,000 beneficiaries, including families, children, and individuals whose livelihoods were disrupted by the demolitions. The support also extended to people who had previously benefited from inDrive-backed social impact programmes, reflecting the company’s continued engagement with vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

The relief covered essential food supplies, household items, and learning materials aimed at stabilising affected households and easing immediate hardship. Beneficiaries received food staples, clothing, bedding, lighting and power solutions, baby care items, and school supplies to help children continue their education despite the displacement.

Speaking on the intervention, inDrive Nigeria’s country representative, Timothy Oladimeji, said the response reflects the company’s commitment to fairness, empathy and community-centred growth. He explained that beyond providing mobility services, inDrive sees its role as standing with communities during moments of crisis while supporting long-term empowerment.

“At inDrive, we believe our responsibility goes beyond mobility. The recent demolitions left many families vulnerable, and through our partnership with GenerousMe, we were able to respond quickly and responsibly. This intervention reflects our commitment to fairness, empathy and ensuring that people remain at the centre of everything we do,” Oladimeji said.

Partnerships Lead at GenerousMe, Adetola Alade, said the collaboration enabled a fast and coordinated response to urgent humanitarian needs. According to her, speed and collaboration are critical in emergencies, and the partnership with inDrive helped ensure that relief reached beneficiaries efficiently.

inDrive said it remains focused on strengthening its presence in Nigeria by combining technology-driven mobility solutions with initiatives that protect livelihoods, support vulnerable groups and promote inclusive economic growth, particularly in communities where displacement and income shocks threaten household stability.
