IzeCarb Launches Calcium Carbonates Production Plant In Nigeria to Boost Non-Oil Exports
Share

Izedon Carbonates, operating as IzeCarb, has inaugurated a cutting-edge calcium carbonates manufacturing facility in Lampese, Edo State, Nigeria. The fully automated plant is set to transform the production of calcium carbonates in Nigeria and contribute to the nation’s economic diversification efforts.

Milestone Achievements

  1. Local Resource Utilization:
    • The facility processes dolomite, a resource abundant in Edo State, into high-quality calcium carbonates.
    • This aligns with Nigeria’s push for non-oil revenue and industrial growth.
  2. Production Goals:
    • In the initial six months, the plant aims to bridge the gap in local demand.
    • Plans are in place to scale production to 200,000 metric tons annually within a year and to 1 million metric tons within three years to meet domestic and regional needs.
  3. Import Substitution:
    • By producing high-quality calcium carbonates locally, IzeCarb seeks to eliminate the need for imports, driving cost efficiency for industries reliant on this resource.

Industry Impact

Wide Applications:

IzeCarb’s products serve diverse industries, including:

  • Oil and Gas: Drilling fluids.
  • Construction: Plaster of Paris (POP).
  • Manufacturing: PVC, paints, and coatings.

Innovative Approach:

  • Quarry-to-Customer Model: Ensures a seamless supply chain, delivering products directly to customers.
  • Product Range: Includes ground calcium carbonate in various micron sizes, coated calcium carbonate, and dolomite aggregate.
  • E-Commerce Integration: Customers can place and track orders via IzeCarb’s user-friendly website.

Endorsements and Support

Industry Leaders:

  • Osayi Izedonmwen, Chairman and Founder, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging local resources to boost economic diversification and job creation.

Bank of Industry (BOI):

  • Olasupo Olusi, MD and CEO, lauded IzeCarb’s initiative and pledged BOI’s support for future expansions aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Local Government:

  • Tajudeen Suleman, Akoko-Edo LGA Chairman, commended the project as a significant step towards industrialization in the region.

Conclusion

IzeCarb’s facility not only marks a significant milestone for Nigeria’s industrial landscape but also promises long-term economic benefits through job creation, import substitution, and enhanced industrial capabilities. This initiative places Nigeria on the map as a key player in the production of calcium carbonates for West Africa and beyond.
