Johnvents Group Enters Rice Market to Boost Food Security in West Africa
Share

Johnvents Group, a multinational agribusiness and manufacturing firm, has officially entered the rice market as part of its broader strategy to strengthen food security and enhance food accessibility across Nigeria and West Africa.

Through its subsidiary, Johnvents DMCC, the company has made its first shipment of premium rice—branded as Johnvents Rice—to Senegal and The Gambia. The announcement was made by the Head of Business at Johnvents DMCC, who noted that the company is sourcing high-quality rice from Pakistan, one of the world’s largest rice exporters, and connecting African markets to global supply chains.

The group said the move is part of its mission to nourish Africa and the world by offering communities access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food. The rice shipment to Senegal marks a new chapter for the company in food distribution, with plans underway to expand into more African markets in the coming months.

As the trading arm of a fully integrated agribusiness, Johnvents DMCC is leveraging global expertise and regional insight to deliver quality food through sustainable and reliable supply chains. This rice initiative aligns with the group’s broader diversification plan approved by its board, which targets expansion across trading, fast-moving consumer goods, commodity exports, retail, and agro-processing in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.

Group Managing Director of Johnvents Group stated that the rice launch is not only about meeting current food needs but also about creating long-term food solutions. He affirmed that

the company is investing heavily in Nigeria’s local rice value chain, from farming to processing, to drive food self-sufficiency.

The company, known for integrating local raw materials with advanced manufacturing and sustainable practices, emphasized its commitment to building resilient supply chains that connect Africa to global markets while delivering economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social impact.

With operations in six countries and a fast-growing product portfolio, Johnvents Group is positioning itself as a key player in the transformation of food systems and agricultural trade across Africa and beyond.
