Kaduna State Govt Partners Federal Ministry to Support Dry Season Farming for 2023/2024 under NAGSAP Program
Share

In collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the Kaduna State Government, led by His Excellency Mal. Uba Sani, is spearheading an intervention to bolster farmers for the upcoming 2023/2024 Dry Season Farming Activities through the National Agricultural Growth Scheme Agro-Pocket (NAGSAP) initiative.

The intervention is aimed specifically at supporting selected value chains—WHEAT, RICE, and MAIZE crop production within the state. The Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA) recently distributed FREE-FARMERS ENROLLMENT FORMS for the Dry Season Farming activities, leading to the successful registration of Wheat farmers and interested individuals across identified irrigable sites in the State.

As the next phase, KADA urges all registered farmers to expedite the process of LAND CLEARING and PREPARATION of their FARMLANDS as the distribution of FREE SEEDS commences soon. The initiative will offer 100%-FREE SEEDS and other FARM INPUTS at a subsidized rate of 50% of the total cost of WHEAT production-required inputs.

To streamline the process, participating farmers are advised to ensure their farmlands are fully cleared and prepared to receive the subsidized inputs. Additionally, they should prepare their equity (50%) for the collection of subsidized farm-inputs at various REDEMPTION CENTERS, the locations of which will be communicated in due course.
