In his address, Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, represented by the commissioner of commerce and industry Bar. Ibrahim Mukhtar expressed his gratitude to elder statesmen, leaders and members of KACCIMA who played crucial roles in resolving the recent leadership crisis in the organisation.

“Today we are witnessing 43rd Kano international trade fair being organized by our own KACCIMA, it’s only with determination and hard work that an association like KACCIMA can be maintained for a hundred years, it’s indication of good leadership and management.”

“Kano state is among the few states in Nigeria that established industrial estate as a result of collaborative work between the private sectors and government, new industrial areas were made available at Bompai and followed with Sharada and challawa industrial areas which led to the formation of mega industries.”

“Kano state is also witnessing another industrial growth and development particularly the rice mills industries, over 50 percent of rice mills in Nigeria are located in Kano and many more are under construction.”

“As we lost our position in textile industries, we are now holding the first position in rice milling, this was achieved due to the federal government efforts, new policies in rice importation and series of intervention funds to boost rice production.”

In his remarks, the Chairman Trade Fair Committee Alhaji Umar Faruq Dansuleka welcomed all peoples that were present at the event.

“As you are all aware that Kano international trade fair was designed to boost Nigeria domestic and international trade, industry, mining and agricultural investment for effective retailers wholesalers, innovators public and private sectors for doing trade and business deals.”

He said, the temporary KACCIMA management committee will continue to promote and contribute to economic growth and poverty reduction, in Kano state and throughout Nigeria.

According to Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, minister of works and housing, President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has done a lot to ensure that the ideal climate is established for enterprises and industries in Nigeria.

He continued by saying that the government would keep assisting the nation’s businesses, farmers, and other sectors.

The International Trade fair is a platform that provides opportunities for participants to display their products and exchange ideas in the areas of business promotion and development.
