Final preparations are underway for the 2025 Lagos Tourism Naija Brand Chick (NBC) Trade Fair, Nigeria’s largest trade and commerce gathering, which aims to generate ₦5 billion in sales. The event, expected to attract over 220 vendors and 75,000 attendees, will run from April 11 to April 13 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Now in its second edition, the fair is a partnership between NBC and the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture. It seeks to strengthen Lagos’ position as a commercial hub by merging trade with entertainment, providing a platform for businesses to thrive while offering buyers an engaging shopping experience.
Lagos State’s Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering small businesses through initiatives that drive economic growth. He emphasized that tourism is more than leisure, as it also encompasses trade, job creation, and infrastructure development. He noted that the administration remains focused on reducing poverty, supporting SMEs, and addressing inequality through events like the NBC Trade Fair.
Aregbe highlighted the introduction of an Online Deals Spot, which will extend participation beyond the physical venue, ensuring wider accessibility and convenience for both vendors and customers. He also assured that the fair would offer smart and cost-effective shopping, with discounted deals available to encourage patronage.
NBC CEO Nelly Agbogu expressed excitement about the upcoming edition, emphasizing that Lagos provides a fertile ground for business growth. She described the fair as a platform that not only facilitates sales but also transforms lives by equipping SMEs with the visibility and resources they need to expand. She noted that the 2025 event would raise the bar with a stronger emphasis on boosting vendor sales and fostering deeper consumer engagement.
The fair will feature a range of business-focused programs, including masterclasses, interactive workshops, and financial inclusion initiatives that will provide vendors with access to grants and business support. Attendees can also expect guest appearances from top influencers and celebrities, cultural performances, dance showcases, raffle draws, and other attractions designed to create a dynamic and rewarding marketplace.
The 2024 edition received widespread praise, with vendors sharing testimonials of increased sales and valuable networking opportunities. Highlights included the introduction of the Sanwo-Naira, a unique payment system, and the Lagos Corner initiative, which allowed small businesses with limited resources to participate for free.
With greater innovation and strong government backing, the 2025 Lagos Tourism NBC Trade Fair is set to exceed expectations, cementing its status as Nigeria’s premier business event.
