The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in partnership with Naija Brand Chick, has announced the mainland edition of the Lagos Tourism Naija Brand Chick Trade Fair, aiming to generate N5 billion in sales over three days. The initiative highlights Lagos State’s drive to foster a people-driven creative economy that integrates innovation, trade, and culture across its five divisions.
Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, said the fair is part of the ongoing “101 Days in Lagos” tourism and culture calendar a series of entertainment-led activities designed to boost commerce, tourism, and citizen engagement.
“We are deliberately leveraging entertainment to drive trade, inspired by the spirit of old Lagos, when markets came alive with music, performance, and community energy. Our goal is to empower between 100 and 150 vendors and help them achieve N5 billion in cumulative sales within three days. It’s ambitious, but we’ve put in the work to make it achievable,” Aregbe said.
He added that months of planning, vendor selection, and marketing coordination had gone into preparing for the fair, ensuring seamless logistics, visibility, and support for exhibitors. He also assured residents that prices would remain affordable, noting that the initiative prioritises inclusivity and shared prosperity alongside sales.
Chief Executive Officer of Naija Brand Chick, Nelly Agbogu, commended Lagos State for co-hosting two editions of the SME-focused initiative within a year, describing it as a model of effective public–private collaboration.
“This initiative is a game-changer that has empowered countless entrepreneurs, boosted visibility for small businesses, and shown that Lagos is intentional about building a thriving SME ecosystem. I am proud of what we have achieved together and excited to deepen this partnership to unlock even greater opportunities for entrepreneurs,” Agbogu said.
The trade fair is expected to provide a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises to showcase their products, network, and gain exposure to a wider market, reinforcing Lagos State’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and economic growth.
