The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced ambitious plans for the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair, aiming to attract one million visitors in what it describes as the largest edition since the fair’s inception.
The 39th edition of the annual event will be held from November 7 to 16, 2025, at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos. Speaking at a press conference, the Chamber’s vice president and chairman of the Trade Promotion Board said publicity for the fair began as early as April to help achieve the record-breaking target.
Historically, the trade fair attracts an average of 350,000 visitors and more than 2,000 exhibitors over its 10-day run, with delegations from about 15 countries participating. This year, organisers are pushing to significantly surpass those figures and position the fair as one of Africa’s most influential trade platforms.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment has confirmed attendance, while organisers await confirmation of the president’s participation in the opening ceremony. Major sponsors and partners for the 2025 edition include the United Bank for Africa, Dangote Industries, Leadway Assurance, Flour Mills of Nigeria, the Japan External Trade Organisation, Tolaram Group, Lifemate Nigeria, and North West Petroleum, among others.
The 2025 fair will feature several specialised exhibitions, including the Children’s Corner, Tech Hub, Africa Hall, five Chinese industrial fairs, and new additions such as the African International Chocolate Show and the International Paper Publishing and Printing Expo.
A key highlight will be a partnership with the Economic Community of West African States, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary during the event. Organisers say this collaboration will showcase the region’s progress in economic integration and shared development goals.
The Japanese Hall, hosted by the Japan External Trade Organisation, will present pop culture exhibitions, while a food court sponsored by Flour Mills of Nigeria will offer a wide range of African and international cuisine.
Another major attraction will be a dedicated “Black Friday” on November 14, focusing on women’s participation and celebrity engagements, with exhibitors offering discounted sales.
Entry into the trade fair will be free for all visitors and exhibitors, and organisers say advanced security measures are being put in place to ensure a safe and seamless experience. They also encouraged visitors to take advantage of the fair for end-of-year and festive shopping, while urging more exhibitors and sponsors to seize the opportunity to network and expand their market reach.
The fair will close on November 16 with a ceremony led by the Lagos State Governor.
