Lawmaker Unveils ₦1 Billion Empowerment Drive To Boost Local Economy In Bauchi
Share

The member representing Alkaleri–Kirfi Federal Constituency has launched a major empowerment program valued at more than one billion naira, designed to uplift thousands of households and strengthen grassroots economic activity across both local government areas.

The initiative was unveiled before a large gathering in Bauchi, where the lawmaker explained that the intervention is intended to expand income opportunities and reduce economic hardship for residents. The distribution covered vehicles, motorcycles, sewing machines, water pump machines, wheelchairs for people living with disabilities and a substantial cash support package of two hundred million naira.

According to the lawmaker, the programme targets a wide range of community groups, including party leaders at ward and local government levels, youth organisations, women’s groups, older citizens, persons with special needs and supporters who have contributed to political stability in the constituency.

He urged all beneficiaries to put the support to productive use, emphasising that the broader objective is to stimulate local businesses and drive economic activity in Alkaleri and Kirfi.

He also appealed to constituents who were not included in this round to remain patient, assuring them that additional phases of the empowerment initiative would soon follow to accommodate more people.

Party leaders at the state and local levels praised the initiative, describing it as a clear example of people-focused representation. They noted that this marks the sixth major empowerment rollout by the lawmaker within two years, highlighting a consistent record of community development.

Community representatives expressed appreciation and pledged to use the items to enhance their livelihoods. They also promised continued support as preparations begin toward future political activities.
