The Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises-Niger Delta (Life-ND) project has successfully trained over 26,000 officials to strengthen agricultural value chains and enhance fish production across the Niger Delta region.
Speaking during the training session, Life-ND Director, Sanni Abiodun, said the initiative, initially targeting 25,000 participants, has exceeded expectations, equipping agricultural and fishery officers from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) with skills to drive modern practices, optimise productivity, and increase profitability.
Abiodun explained that the training adopted an interactive, practical approach, exposing trainees to real-world applications they can implement within their departments to achieve immediate results.
She added that the programme is designed to empower technical officers and policy implementers, supporting their roles in agriculture, agribusiness development, and fisheries management to create sustainable economic opportunities in the region.
Life-ND continues to play a pivotal role in building human capacity for agribusiness growth, with a strong focus on productivity, value-chain optimisation, and rural enterprise development.
