Mamador, a leading food brand, has organized a capacity-building program aimed at empowering women with vital health and financial education at its annual August Women Meeting held recently in Lagos. The event, themed ‘Nourish to Flourish: Elevating Health and Wealth,’ gathered health and financial experts who shared insights on improving wellness and maximizing wealth for women across Africa.
At the event, which saw the attendance of women from different walks of life, experts such as Sandra Oluwadare, Sola Adesakin, Dr. Chinonso Egemba, and Kaffy Shaffau educated women on practical steps to elevate their health and financial status.
PZ Wilmar’s Head of Marketing, Chioma Mbanugo, emphasized the significance of the August Women Meeting, calling it a platform for celebrating women’s contributions to society. She stated, “This event is our way of showing support to women. We see you, and we are here to support you.” Mbanugo highlighted that the event was inspired by the South-East tradition of August Women Meetings, where women gather to discuss pressing issues, including health and finances.
Family and Parenting Coach, Sandra Oluwadare, addressed the importance of intentional parenting, reminding the women in attendance of their role as “shapers and moulders of destinies.” She urged them to be mindful of how they raise their children, as it directly influences the future.
Dr. Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, spoke on the importance of making healthier choices in daily life. His session covered critical health topics such as hypertension, healthy eating, and the importance of adequate sleep. “Your health begins with what you eat,” Egemba stressed.
Financial coach Sola Adesakin gave a practical lecture on money management and the importance of investments for financial freedom. She reminded the women, “It is not enough to earn money; learn how to manage it.”
One of the event’s highlights was an elevator pitch competition for women entrepreneurs. Vennile Pads won the top prize, securing N2 million cash reward. At the same time, Maka Marvi and Farhms Food and Sauce Global Limited came in second and third place, receiving N1 million and N500,000, respectively.
Mamador’s August Women Meeting continues to stand out as a powerful initiative committed to women’s physical and financial well-being, not just in Nigeria but across Africa.
