The Founder of MSME Africa, Seye Olurotimi has emerged the winner of the Entrepreneur Africa Award for Media Innovation at the 2021 Edition of the Entrepreneur Africa Awards held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria. Olurotimi emerged winner of the category which had four other nominees.
The award event, which is in its 5th edition, was held amidst lots of pomp and pageantry in the presence of notable players within the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, Celebrities and public figures. According to the organisers; there were 1223 entries for the award out of which 127 official nominees were shortlisted.
Olurotimi, who is a Marketing Communications and SME Branding expert is a passionate about enterprise development and has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs. He is an International Partner of World Business Angel Investment Forum and the convener of the widely attended MSME Dialogue. He is also a member of the MSME Community of practice of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG).
While reacting to the award, Olurotimi said ‘’ I am more than elated and I wish to express my appreciation to the team at Entrepreneurship Africa Award for this recognition. I believe it’s a call to do more’’
‘’Even though, I have been named as the recipient of the award, I know it is in recognition of the work we collectively do at MSME Africa and I will therefore dedicate it to our formidable team at MSME Africa who daily put in the work to better the lots of entrepreneurs especially those within the Micro, Small and Medium sized business (MSME) bracket’’.
‘’We rolled out in May 2020 and within a period of 15 months, we have reached over 226,000 users, curated about 400 opportunities ( Funding, Accelerators, Incubators , Grants, Training etc) and provided daily, timely and relevant information about happenings and developments within the MSME, Entrepreneurial and Startup Ecosystems in Africa. We have also provided tools and resources for entrepreneurs to thrive and grow through our media platform, our events, our community and other initiatives. This has been made possible by the team and’’. Olurotimi added.
