Share

The MSME Conference 2024 was a hub of inspiration, bringing together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovators dedicated to reshaping Nigeria’s economic future. A key highlight of the event was the SMEDAN Pitch Competition, where entrepreneurs showcased groundbreaking ideas aimed at tackling challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The competition attracted over 3,000 applicants, each eager to present their innovative business solutions to a panel of esteemed judges. More than just a contest, the Pitch Competition provided participants with opportunities for funding, exposure, and valuable networking that could help drive their businesses forward.

This year’s competition was intense, and after a rigorous selection process, three standout winners emerged, each demonstrating immense potential to revolutionize their respective industries.

First place went to Loom Chocolate, which took home ₦5 million for its innovative approach to the confectionery industry. Their groundbreaking solution promises to transform the market, making them a worthy recipient of the top prize.

Negs Honey secured the second-place prize of ₦3 million, impressing the judges with their honey-based products and their focus on empowering women in rural communities. Their unique approach to packaging and innovation stood out, earning them well-deserved recognition.

Date Store NG came in third place, winning ₦2 million for their efforts in providing healthier sugar alternatives through dates. Their value chain innovation and diverse date-based products wowed the judges and underscored their potential impact on the food industry.

More than just a competition, the SMEDAN Pitch Competition is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurship—the driving forces behind Nigeria’s growing economy. The winners’ innovative solutions are set to not only transform their industries but also bring positive change to their communities.

As we celebrate the success of these entrepreneurs, we extend our gratitude to all participants for their hard work and creativity. Their ideas are a testament to the potential of Nigerian SMEs to fuel economic growth and create lasting change.
