MTN ICT and Business Skills Training for Young Entrepreneurs (Phase 7) – Applications Open
Share

Introduction:
MTN has opened applications for the seventh phase of its ICT and Business Skills Training, a youth-focused initiative designed to help young entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses with digital tools and strategies. Targeted at individuals aged 18 to 35, the program equips participants with the knowledge and resources needed to build resilient small businesses in an increasingly tech-driven economy.

Key Highlights:

  •  Program Type: ICT and Business Skills Training (with equipment grants)
  • Duration: 5 weeks (blended learning: self-paced + instructor-led online sessions)
  • Eligibility: Young people aged 18–35 running or planning to start small businesses
  • Support: Data access during training and N300,000,000 equipment grants for the top 600 participants
  • Number of Participants: 6,000 entrepreneurs

Why This Matters for African Entrepreneurs:
For many young entrepreneurs in Africa, access to digital skills and business training remains limited, hindering the growth of small enterprises. MTN’s ICT and Business Skills Training directly addresses this challenge by blending technology education with practical business knowledge. Since its inception in 2018, the program has trained 9,382 micro business owners across 22 Nigerian states, helping them adopt digital solutions and scale their ventures.

The new phase expands this impact, targeting 6,000 participants and offering top performers a share of N300 million in equipment grants. Partnerships with leading global tech companies like Google, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, Meta, Microsoft, and KPMG ensure participants learn from industry best practices and gain exposure to global business standards.

Insights from Previous Participants:

Alumni from earlier cohorts report significant growth in their businesses after completing the program. Many have been able to digitize operations, improve customer reach, and attract new opportunities. This shows how strategic training like this can bridge the gap between traditional small business practices and modern, tech-enabled growth strategies.

Tips for a Strong Application:

  • Highlight your business vision and how digital tools could help you grow.
  • Show evidence of your commitment to learning and implementing new strategies.
  • Submit your application early and ensure your details are accurate.

How to Apply:

  • Applicants must complete the online registration form on the [official MTN ICT and Business Skills Training portal]
  • Once registered, selected participants will receive details on how to join the virtual sessions.
