MTN Nigeria has launched a renewed customer-centric drive with its first-ever Customer Engagement Day, held recently in Ikoyi, Lagos. Themed “We See You. We Are With You,” the event marked a significant step in the company’s evolving identity from a traditional telecoms provider to a digital partner committed to empowering Nigerians.
The gathering brought together customers, tech innovators, entrepreneurs, and MTN executives for a day filled with real-time dialogue, digital literacy workshops, mentorship, and interactive product showcases. The initiative emphasized MTN’s intent to not only listen to customer concerns but actively respond with solutions tailored to their everyday challenges.
Speaking at the event, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Karl Toriola, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to value delivery, transparency, and inclusivity. “We have invested heavily to build a network that delivers value for money. While data in Nigeria remains among the most affordable globally, our focus is on quality and consistency that truly powers ambition,” he said. “Today is about answering your questions, listening to your concerns, and showing that MTN is not just a service provider; we are a partner in your journey.”
Throughout the day, guests participated in a variety of activities, including a data literacy workshop, startup pitch competition, fireside chats, and speed mentorship sessions. The event also spotlighted MTN’s digital innovations, particularly through its fintech arm MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB), along with platforms built to support SMEs and the broader digital economy.
MTN’s Chief Operating Officer, Ayham Moussa, highlighted the deep roots the company has built in Nigeria’s social and economic fabric. “When MTN began, it was built by people like you — engineers, entrepreneurs, everyday Nigerians. Today, we connect over 80 million people. Our focus remains simple: to stand with you in your hustle, support your ambitions, and make life easier,” he said.
Chief Marketing Officer Onyiye Ikenna-Emeka added that the event was more than symbolic, it was a call to action. “We’ve heard your complaints, your ideas, your personal stories — from parents navigating school expenses to digital entrepreneurs working tirelessly online. Be assured that we listen, we care, and we do. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re committed to turning today’s conversations into tangible results.”
The event underscores MTN Nigeria’s commitment to redefining the customer relationship in a rapidly digitalizing society — empowering users, supporting businesses, and advancing digital inclusion across the country.
