Share

MTV Base is set to enhance the Africa Creative Market (ACM) with its dedicated ‘Music Day’ event on Friday in Lagos. The entertainment brand will contribute by hosting panel discussions and activities designed to promote African music on the global stage.

As part of its sponsorship, MTV Base will facilitate discussions on advancing African music internationally. Key topics include strategies for African artists to reach global audiences, innovative production techniques, and navigating the evolving music industry.

One notable panel, titled ‘Beyond Borders: Building Global Audiences for African Music,’ will feature experts offering insights on leveraging social media, forming international partnerships, and using digital platforms to boost African music globally.

Another panel, ‘The Art of Sampling: How It Works and When Does It Become Theft?’will explore the intricacies of music sampling, examining its legal and creative aspects and the delicate balance between inspiration and copyright infringement.

Busola Komolafe, Senior Channels Manager at Paramount Africa, emphasized MTV Base’s commitment to shaping the future of African music. “The ACM provides an ideal platform to tackle challenges and capitalize on opportunities that will amplify African music’s global impact,” Komolafe stated.

Yetty Ogunnubi, ACM Communications Director, highlighted that MTV Base’s participation will significantly benefit the industry gathering, offering valuable guidance for artists and professionals aiming to expand their international presence.
