The National Health Fellows (NHF) program has commenced the physical interview stage for its Cohort 2 selection process, with interview sessions taking place nationwide this week.
In a statement released by the program, NHF congratulated candidates who advanced to this stage, describing their progress as a reflection of their commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s health system. The organization encouraged shortlisted applicants to approach the interviews with confidence and adequate preparation.
“The dedication shown by candidates who have reached this stage is truly inspiring. We wish all participants the very best as they take this important step in the selection process,” the statement said.
The Federal Government also commended candidates for confirming their availability for the physical interview phase of the NHF 2.0 program. According to the organizers, interview details, including venue, date, and time, have already been sent to successful candidates via their registered email addresses and are also accessible on the NHF candidate portal.
NHF advised candidates to carefully review their interview information and ensure full compliance with documentation requirements. Shortlisted applicants are expected to present seven hard copies each of key documents to the interview panel. These include the NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter, Local Government Area Indigene Certificate, university or school certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, a current curriculum vitae, and a National Identification Number slip.
Candidates have also been instructed to arrive at their respective interview venues at least one hour before their scheduled interview time to allow for verification and administrative processes.
The National Health Fellows program is a Federal Government-supported initiative aimed at building a new generation of health professionals equipped with leadership, policy, and implementation skills to improve healthcare delivery across Nigeria. The highly competitive program attracts thousands of applicants nationwide, with only a limited number progressing to the interview stage.
NHF encouraged aspiring applicants who were not selected in this cohort to monitor official channels for future application windows, stressing that the program remains open to young professionals passionate about health system strengthening and public service.
The interview stage marks a critical phase in the NHF selection process, as successful candidates will move closer to participating in placements designed to drive innovation, policy execution, and service delivery within Nigeria’s health sector.
