Share

In today’s fast-evolving job market, where digital and entrepreneurial skills are key to success, NerdzFactory Foundation, in partnership with Access Bank, has successfully completed the fourth edition of the Youth Transition Program. This initiative empowered 500 young individuals, equipping them with vital employability and digital skills to secure meaningful employment or launch entrepreneurial ventures.

Launched on August 5, 2024, the program was conducted online, offering interactive training sessions that allowed participants from diverse locations to engage in a comprehensive curriculum. The training focused on essential skills, including **Digital Workspace Tools, CV Writing, LinkedIn Optimization, and Digital Workplace Skills—all crucial for thriving in today’s competitive job market.

The Youth Transition Programme was developed to address the significant skills gap between young job seekers and employer expectations. As youth unemployment remains a critical challenge, the program aimed to bridge this divide by equipping participants not just to find jobs, but to create economic opportunities for themselves through entrepreneurship.

By integrating entrepreneurial training, participants were given the mindset and tools needed to consider starting their own businesses. Ade Olowojoba Director of NerdzFactory Foundation, emphasized the program’s broader impact, saying, “The Youth Transition Programme is our way of ensuring that young individuals are not just passive players in the economy, but active drivers of change. By equipping them with these skills, we’re instilling an entrepreneurial spirit that can drive economic growth in our communities.”

The program was tailored to meet the individual needs of participants, with personalized sessions helping each individual maximize their potential. By the end of the training, many participants reported increased confidence in their job search and entrepreneurial prospects. They also refined their CVs and optimized their LinkedIn profiles, improving their visibility to potential employers and clients.

This edition of the Youth Transition Programme highlighted the continued collaboration between NerdzFactory Foundation and Access Bank in promoting youth empowerment. As the participants step into their professional journeys, they are now equipped with the skills needed to navigate both the current and future job market.

The initiative represents a significant step in reducing youth unemployment and fostering economic development through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship.
